My painting journey began in my hometown of Mobile, AL on the Gulf Coast, through the support and encouragement of my high school art teacher, Christy LeGros. Her approach to art and education have inspired me in both my artistic and professional endeavors, encouraging me to explore and deepen my artistic voice. Since then, I’ve enjoyed experimenting with different mediums in my work, but I feel most at home with a watercolor/acrylic combination painting technique on paper. I'm also exploring some digital art and graphic design.
"Everyone is an artist. If you think you're not, you just haven't identified your medium yet; whether that's through visual art or through other means of expression like dance, writing, or music." - Lisa
Lisa Schibelius on LinkedIn: My artwork was nominated as a winner in the Virginia Tech Graduate School art & photography contest 🥳 over Thanksgiving break I felt inspired to paint the inverse of it - still finalizing the details.
